Hollyport Logistics founder Jerry Holmes retires 14 years after starting the Heathrow based freight forwarding business back in February 2010. Hollyport Logistics is in safe hands With a wealth of 44 years’ experience in international business, Jerry has been the driving force behind the freight forwarder which was purchased by Spatial Global last February. Following a year’s transition to the new management team, Jerry can finally close the door on his office and start the next chapter in his life. It’s been great working with you Robert Tedd who heads up the Freight Team at Spatial Global has been dividing his time between the two locations for the past 12 months. This has ensured that the business, its customers and people have had the very best transition. There are lots of opportunities and although we are sorry that our time working with Jerry is over, we are happy to enjoy the fruits of his hard work. He has been great to work with following the change of ownership. Especially during the work to ensure all our systems are aligned and both locations are able to provide support as a seamless extension of one another. The CHIEF system is no longer available for exports and its retirement signifies a completion of the phased roll-out of the implementation of CDS. CHIEF will be completely redundant after March 30th 2024 The Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight (CHIEF) system will be completely redundant after March 30th, 2024 for UK-based businesses engaged in exports. That’s the official date when the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) becomes the only platform for processing all export declarations. CDS has been running since 2018 and is already being used for making import declarations when moving goods into the UK. The service will replace the Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight (CHIEF) service, representing a significant upgrade by providing businesses with a more user-friendly, streamlined system that offers greater functionality.
