Chamber launches export website
12th November 2010
A new website aimed at helping exporters to access key information, get their questions answered by international trading experts, debate hot topics and network with each other online has been launched.
Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce (DNCC) has introduced the standalone site, www.exportit.co.uk, which will allow importers and exporters to put their questions to a resident panel of experts, who will provide a swift response about any subject.
Businesses will be able to discuss industry developments, build and develop trading relationships and share information via the web forum.
The site also includes a news section, links to other export services and organisations such as UKTI and Business Link, and information about the services the Chamber's International Trade team can provide.
The project to build the site was led by Russell Whillis, the Chamber's International Trade Manager. Working alongside the Chamber's International Trade team will be the website's sponsors, Castle Donington-based international distribution company Spatial Global.
David Hood, the Chamber's Head of International Trade, said: "The Chamber is extremely excited about the launch of this new initiative, which will be of massive use to firms who import and export their goods and services.
"As well as being able to access the in-house expertise of the third largest Chamber of Commerce in the UK, the new website will provide users with the opportunity to get their questions answered quickly by industry experts and interact with one another online to share information, ideas and best practice.
"www.exportit.co.uk is a unique website in terms of what it can offer to businesses and the long-term aim is for it to become the first port of call for importers and exporters from across the whole of the UK and beyond."
International Trade Manager, Russell Whillis, continued: "We see anything that helps exporters and importers in the international arena as beneficial and welcome the involvement of Spatial Global on this important new initiative."
And Wendy Hain, Managing Director of Spatial Global, added: "Paul Price our Business Development Manager saw the opportunities that ExportIT provided to the Chamber's clients and did not hesitate in adding our support to this unique web site, which allows a 'one stop' source for all exporters and importers needs.
"Spatial Global is based at Castle Donington, Derby, and the Group's activities include worldwide freight movements, bonded warehousing with consolidation services, a pick-and-pack logistics centre and international/UK courier services. Spatial also has its own mailing fulfilment centre with state-of-the-art enclosing machinery, and offers international/UK mail despatch.
"Spatial looks forward to continuing to work with DNCC as it continues to develop the service further."
Spatial Global is a Keswick Enterprises Group company (see www.keswickenterprises.com).
