Mike Wallis to speak on CEE markets at 3PL Conference

Spatial Global's Mike Wallis will be one of the principal speakers at this year's two-day 3PL Conference organised by Akabo Media and sponsored by its magazines, Logistics Manager and Logistics & Supply Chain. Last year Mike officiated as Conference Chairman at the same event. Mike, who is both Executive Chairman of Spatial Global and a main board director of parent company The Keswick Enterprises Group, will speak on the Conference's first day about fast-growing logistics markets in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Analysing these markets, he will identify how international best practice can be transferred to them – skipping a generation – and will discuss lean approaches to 3PL operations and the ways 3PLs can measure their success in the region. Mike is also Director of Romania-based logistics service provider Tibbett Logistics and Partner of consulting business Graphene Partners – both Keswick Enterprises' companies. A hands-on manager, Mike has a degree in Law and immense experience in the worlds of freight and logistics. Starting in 1980 as a graduate trainee with Tibbett & Britten, he has worked in freight forwarding, contract logistics, warehousing and transport – mostly as the head of business units in the UK and elsewhere. Clients have included some of the world's most interesting companies, including Walmart, Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury's, Unilever, Woolworth's South Africa, Coles Myers Australia, B&Q and Whitbread. With Board-level responsibility for Spatial Global since its acquisition in 2006, Mike stepped in as Executive Chairman in 2015. At Tibbett Logistics, which employs around 1000 people in Romania, Mike's responsibilities include the transfer of best practice and the personal coaching of local management. At Graphene Partners he leads some of the transformation projects that the business handles in Central and Eastern Europe. He is also retained as strategic advisor to three European companies – a retailer in Poland, a logistics service provider in Serbia and another retailer in Serbia. The 3PL Conference takes place at the Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel & Country Club, Meriden, UK on 29–30 June 2016 under the theme of 'Better collaboration for the challenges ahead'. Designed for end-user practitioner logisticians and operational 3PL professionals, the Conference is intended to promote executive learning and high-level networking.
