Caroline Marshall-Foster,the Managing Editor of The Florist, explained how she was inspired to publish an anniversary special issue of ‘The Florist’ as a milestone to both her 60th birthday and retirement from publishing.

The Florist is the only independent trade magazine for the £1.8 billion retail flower industry in the UK. It started life back in 1949 as a traditional print journal before going fully digital in January 2014. The site now attracts in excess of 10,000 unique visitors a month and is backed up by a fully formed social media network with a reach of over 30,000 interactions depending on the story. Theflorist.co.uk is the only truly independent trade magazine and is acknowledged as one of the most successful digital titles in the world of flowers.

Caroline explained how the anniversary special grew in pages and print run, ending up as a 132 page edition and just over 3000 copies distributed throughout the UK , and 500 in Ireland.
I’ve dealt with hundreds of mailing houses in my career, what impressed me so much about Spatial Global was just how accommodating everyone was”. Caroline went on to say, “Nothing was too much trouble, as the anniversary issue grew in pages and print run, I needed to continually update the mailing costs, each time pushing back the timescales. As this was a one-off project, I was really impressed with the willingness of Spatial Globals to work with me - especially as this was such an important personal project.
