New Paper Wrap Mailing Machine installed

Six figure investment to provide a more environmentally friendly mailing solution takes shape as the installation and testing phase is complete.

Spatial Global pioneers on greener mailing options

Spatial Global have been promoting greener, or more environmentally solutions for publishers to distribute their magazines for approaching two decades. But following Sir David Attenbrough's exposure of the impact of plastics on the environment, customers were increasingly asking for alternatives so they could move away from polywrap.

Transition away from plastic-based polywrapping

With the increased demands from customers for a more environmentally friendly solution,  Spatial Global decided to invest in a new paper wrapping line. This was finalised at the end of 2019 and installation took place just before the COVID-19 Pandemic resulted in lockdown. Fortunately the installation was completed just before lockdown, and although it's been a little protracted given the movement restrictions, the mailing team at Spatial Global have been able to put the new equipment through its paces.

The new paper wrap mailing solution has given us a variety of options to offer our customers, including branded wrappers. Several clients have already migrated to the paper wrap away from polywrap, to ensure their publications environmental credentials match the expectation of their customers. The results and efficiencies we’ve experienced so far have been very encouraging and customer feedback has been very positive.
