Ian Reading, Director at Trade Underfloor Supplies, was experienced in international fulfilment as he has worked previously managing an international team selling educational supplies which shipped tens of thousands of products globally every year. This experience was one reason why he had joined Trade Underfloor Supplies with founding Director Mike Beck. The company was modelled on a drop ship arrangement with its manufacturers but the dynamic of the market is rapidly changing, and to enable TUS to offer an enhanced service to their customers in the way of a consolidated delivery of multiple brands, they looked for a logistics partner.  A partner which supports the high customer service levels, 24hr planning and quoting service and great technical support at the end of the phone.

Initially the ecommerce fulfilment was managed internally

Specialising in the design and supply of energy efficient underfloor heating systems for new and existing homes, the business is growing quickly. Working closely with hundreds of heating installers and property developers around the UK on residential and commercial developments of all sizes and their systems have featured in award winning developments and on Channel 4’s Grand Designs and Restoration Man. It soon became clear the ecommerce fulfilment could be better managed via a specialist logistics partner to manage the TUS stock holding and remove the dependance on its manufacturers.

Ecommerce fulfilment tendered to 7 third party logistics providers

A tender specification was drawn up and 7 3PL's were invited to tender. The directors knew this was a big step and selecting the right partner was paramount to their continued success and growth.

Although I'd had previous experience with Spatial Global in order fulfilment through my previous employer, all the directors chose the proposal from Spatial Global. It was the best fit for our needs, they had really listened and understood our brief and the brand promise they were challenged to deliver.
