London Gateway Port Visit

BIFA visit provides training and first hand experience of the UK's most integrated logistics hub, a strategically-located centre of excellence on the River Thames.

A port within the Port of London

DP World London Gateway is a semi-automated deep-sea container terminal on the same site as the UK's largest land bank for the development of warehousing, distribution facilities, and ancillary logistics services.

Servicing the worlds’ biggest container ships

A deep-water port, London Gateway is able to handle Ultra-Large container ships and is linked on a weekly basis with over 50 countries and more than 90 ports across the world. This includes direct links to Asia, Australia, the US, South America, Africa, India, and southern Europe.

Expanding knowledge and understanding first hand

Cristina and Izabela from Spatial Global’s freight team both attended the site visit, tour and question and answers session at the port. London Gateway is operated by DP World, an Emirati multinational logistics company based in Dubai. Specialising in cargo logistics, port terminal operations, maritime services and free trade zones, DP World handles around roughly 10% of global container traffic. That's approximately 70 million containers per year, loading and off loading around 70,000 vessels annually - across their 82 marine and inland terminals present in over 40 countries.
