Transition to MultiFreight after 17 years with Cargowise

Spatial Global were an early adopter of Cargowise, and have seen the TMS platform develop into the enterprise software it is today - so why the move?

 

We saw a better fit Freight management system (FMS)

When we purchased Hollyport Logistics last year, initially we assumed they would adopt our FMS (Freight Management System) Cargowise, however their usage of an alternative platform led us to consider and review if our own system still delivered what we needed and remained cost competitive. The brief was to align both branches in sharing the same system and had to be cloud based. Cloud based meant it enabled freight operations to be viewed and managed by staff at either office. Following a number of supplier presentations and demonstrations we decided that Multifreight and its integrated software suite(s) fitted our requirements, because it had the most relevant customs connectivity, strong reporting features and accounting functionality for our needs.

An FMS helps plan the logistics of cargo and optimises the physical movement of goods. It ensures efficient and cost-effective transportation across the supply chain, both incoming and outgoing. It helps make sure the shipment is compliant and the relevant documentation is available.

 

A move to a consolidated, cloud based TMS, with integrated customs

We've now gone through an exercise to rationalise and harmonise the software platforms of both organisations. We're moving to a single solution for both companies and this includes MultiShed – customs declaration software – which is integrated within our MultiFreight cloud based software. The freight teams at both organisations are undertaking training to ensure a smooth transition from their incumbent TMS and the integrated customs management should make the documentation process much more efficient.
